X-Ring Leaf Chains for Lifting and Conveying Technology
Our X-ring leaf chains minimise friction and wear thanks to integrated sealing systems. They offer an increased service life and are particularly suitable for demanding applications with high loads.
X-Ring Flyer Chains for Heavy-Duty Industrial Applications
X-Ring flyer chains are designed for applications requiring high tensile strength, reliable performance and long service life. They are commonly used in lifting systems, conveyor technology, hoisting equipment and industrial handling applications where chains are exposed to continuous mechanical loads.
MOVET supplies durable X-Ring flyer chains for demanding industrial environments. Thanks to the integrated X-Ring sealing technology, lubricant remains protected inside the chain joint while dirt, dust and moisture are kept out more effectively. This significantly reduces wear in critical joint areas and helps extend the operational lifetime of the chain, especially in applications with high dynamic loads and continuous movement.
Difference Between Flyer Chains and Roller Chains
Flyer chains differ considerably from standard roller chains in both design and application. While roller chains are primarily used for power transmission with sprockets, flyer chains are specifically engineered for lifting and tensile load applications.
Their construction consists of multiple stacked link plates designed to withstand extremely high tensile forces. This makes flyer chains ideal for forklifts, lifting systems, counterweight mechanisms and industrial hoists. Due to their robust construction and high load capacity, flyer chains are widely used in applications involving repetitive lifting movements and demanding operating conditions.
Advantages of X-Ring Sealing Technology
Compared to conventional chain designs, X-Ring flyer chains offer significant advantages in terms of wear protection and maintenance reduction. The specially designed X-shaped sealing elements help retain lubricant within the chain joint while minimizing contamination from external particles and moisture.
As a result, friction and wear between pins and plates are reduced, leading to smoother operation and longer chain life. In many industrial environments, this also allows for extended lubrication intervals and reduced maintenance requirements. Especially in dusty or heavily loaded applications, X-Ring technology provides clear performance advantages over standard chain solutions.
Flyer Chains for Conveyor Systems and Lifting Equipment
Modern conveyor and lifting systems require reliable chain solutions capable of operating safely under continuous load. Even minor wear or irregular chain movement can affect the performance of an entire production process. MOVET X-Ring flyer chains are suitable for a wide range of industrial applications, including lifting equipment, conveyor systems, automated handling technology and mechanical engineering. Their high tensile strength and optimized sealing design ensure dependable performance even under demanding operating conditions.
The robust chain construction makes them suitable for both continuous operation and applications involving dynamic load changes.
Reduced Maintenance and Extended Service Life
One of the main advantages of X-Ring flyer chains is the extended protection of the chain joints. Since lubricant remains inside the critical moving areas for longer periods, the need for relubrication is significantly reduced. At the same time, the sealing system protects the chain against external contamination.
This helps reduce downtime and improves maintenance planning, particularly in automated systems or installations with limited accessibility. Lower maintenance requirements can also contribute to reduced operating costs and improved process reliability. For industrial users, this results in a durable and efficient chain solution for long-term operation.
High-Quality Materials for Industrial Reliability
MOVET X-Ring flyer chains are manufactured from high-quality materials designed for demanding industrial use. The individual chain components are engineered to withstand high mechanical stress while maintaining reliable performance over long operating periods.
Depending on the application, flyer chains may be exposed to heavy tensile loads, dirt, moisture or fluctuating temperatures. The combination of robust construction and advanced sealing technology ensures reliable operation even in challenging industrial environments. This makes MOVET flyer chains particularly suitable for applications where durability and operational reliability are essential.

Selecting AL and BL Leaf Chains by Series and Pitch
Leaf chains are available in different series and plate-lacing combinations. The MOVET range includes both AL and BL leaf chains. Selection depends on the required tensile load, available installation space, chain pitch and the design of the existing lifting system.
| Leaf-chain series | Design characteristics | Typical selection criteria |
|---|---|---|
| AL leaf chain | Plate dimensions and thickness are based on the corresponding ANSI roller-chain size | Lifting, balancing and counterweight applications with application-specific tensile loads |
| BL leaf chain | Thicker and larger link plates and larger pins than an AL chain of the same pitch | Heavy lifting systems requiring increased tensile strength and load capacity |
The final digits of the chain designation indicate the plate-lacing combination. For example, BL 644 identifies a BL leaf chain with a 4 × 4 plate arrangement. Other available configurations include combinations such as 3 × 4, 4 × 6 and 6 × 6.
MOVET supplies leaf chains with pitches of 12.70, 19.05, 25.40 and 31.75 mm, together with matching connecting links and end pins. In addition to the pitch, the chain width, plate combination, pin dimensions, connecting components and product-specific permissible load must correspond to the lifting system. Further sizes are available under leaf chains for industrial lifting applications .
