Side-Flexing Multiflex Chains for Curved Conveyor Systems

Side-flexing multiflex chains are plastic conveyor chains designed for systems with curves, changes of direction and compact conveyor layouts. These flexible conveyor chains can travel through both straight and curved sections within a continuous conveying line, making them suitable for production, packaging and automation systems.

For reliable operation, the minimum curve radius, chain guidance and conveyor layout must be matched to the selected chain. For exclusively linear conveying sections, straight-running multiflex chains are available as an alternative.

Series 1702 Multiflex Chains with a 50.8 mm Pitch

The range includes side-flexing multiflex chains and components from the 1702 series with a pitch of 50.8 mm. Important selection criteria include the required tensile strength, conveyor layout, installed guide system and operating environment.

The sprockets, shaft dimensions and guide components must also be compatible with the chain series and the existing equipment. Before replacing a conveyor chain, the technical product data should therefore be compared with the dimensions of the installed chain and drive system.

Selecting Suitable Materials, Flights and Sprockets

Side-flexing multiflex chains and their associated components are available in POM, PP, glass-fibre-reinforced PA or stainless steel, depending on the design. The appropriate material depends on the mechanical load, operating temperature, moisture and contact with chemicals or cleaning agents.
