Blue Waterproof Accessories for Hygienic Bearing Housings
MOVET Blue Waterproof accessories complement bearing housings and mounted bearing units with components designed to protect the bearing and shaft area. The range includes open and closed protective caps as well as shaft seals for different housing sizes and shaft diameters.
The blue components are suitable for hygienically demanding machinery, conveyor systems and production environments. The protective cap or shaft seal must be matched precisely to the housing size, shaft diameter and individual bearing unit.
Selecting a Protective Cap or Shaft Seal
The appropriate accessory depends on whether an exposed housing side, a through-shaft or the transition between the stationary housing and rotating shaft needs to be protected.

Open and Closed Waterproof Protective Caps
Closed Waterproof protective caps are used when one side of the bearing housing must be fully covered. Open protective caps include an opening for a through-shaft while covering the surrounding bearing and housing area.

Shaft Seals for the Housing-to-Shaft Transition
Shaft seals, also referred to as backseals in the MOVET product range, are installed between the stationary bearing housing and the rotating shaft. They provide additional protection against moisture and contamination while allowing the shaft to rotate.
Available Blue Waterproof shaft seals are selected according to the shaft diameter, outer diameter and corresponding housing size. Material compatibility should also be checked against the cleaning agents, temperatures and media present in the application.
Select Accessories by Housing Size and Shaft Diameter
The shaft diameter alone is not sufficient to identify the correct bearing housing accessory. Bearing units designed for the same shaft size can have different housing dimensions depending on their series and construction. The housing size and shaft diameter must therefore be considered together.
This is particularly important when selecting accessories for flange bearings with shaft diameters such as 20, 30 or 40 mm. Also compare the required outer diameter of the cap or seal and check the full product designation of the installed bearing housing.
IP69K Accessories for Intensive Cleaning Environments
Waterproof protective caps identified as IP69K are intended for compatible bearing solutions used in production environments with intensive cleaning requirements. When correctly matched and installed, they can provide additional protection for the bearing area during high-pressure and high-temperature washdown processes.
The overall protection depends on the complete combination of bearing housing, bearing insert, protective cap, shaft seal and correct installation. Not every blue accessory is automatically part of an IP69K-rated system. The technical specifications of the individual component and bearing unit must therefore always be checked.
Accessories for Flange, Pillow Block and Take-Up Bearing Units
Depending on the housing series, Blue Waterproof accessories can be combined with different types of mounted bearing units. These include flange bearings, pillow block bearings and take-up bearing units, provided that the housing size, connection geometry and shaft diameter are compatible.
When replacing an existing accessory, do not select solely by the general bearing type. Two bearing housings for the same shaft diameter may have different external dimensions and cap connections. The complete type designation of the installed bearing unit provides the most reliable basis for selecting compatible accessories.
