Pull Handles for Machinery and Equipment
U-handles enable safe handling and make it easier to open, close or transport machine components. They are made of durable materials and are optimised for industrial applications.
Stainless Steel Pull Handles for Machinery and Equipment
Stainless steel pull handles provide a secure grip for opening, closing and positioning machine doors, covers, access panels and other movable components. Their simple U-shaped design creates an accessible gripping area and can be integrated into a wide range of industrial enclosures and machine constructions.
MOVET supplies durable U-handles for mechanical engineering, plant construction, control cabinets and hygiene-sensitive production environments. Different handle diameters, hole spacings, overall lengths and surface finishes allow the handle to be matched to the available installation space and the surrounding machine design.
Which Industrial Pull Handle Suits the Application?
The appropriate handle design depends on the installation position, available space, surface finish and cleaning requirements. The following comparison provides an overview of the principal versions available from MOVET:
| Handle design | Characteristics | Typical applications |
|---|---|---|
| Standard stainless steel | Solid round handle manufactured from AISI 304 stainless steel | Machine covers, doors, access panels and technical enclosures |
| Polished finish | Smooth and visually uniform stainless steel surface | Accessible and regularly cleaned machine areas |
| Sandblasted finish | Even, matt surface appearance | Industrial constructions with matt stainless steel panels |
| HYGIENIC 3A | Polished stainless steel pull handle with blue silicone seals | Food, beverage and pharmaceutical machinery with increased hygiene requirements |
| Recessed handle | Low-projection installation design with silicone seal | Doors and covers where protruding components should be minimised |
Select U-Handles by Hole Spacing and Dimensions
Hole spacing is one of the most important dimensions when selecting an industrial pull handle. It describes the distance between the two mounting points and must correspond to the existing holes or the planned drilling pattern.
| Selection feature | Available options | Selection guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Handle diameter | 8, 10 or 12 mm | Influences the grip area, external dimensions and handling characteristics |
| Hole spacing | 88, 96, 98, 100, 120, 180 or 183 mm | Must correspond to the mounting pattern of the component |
| Overall length | 98 to 195 mm | Check the available lateral installation space |
| Handle height | 28, 40, 43 or 46 mm | Determines the clearance between the handle and mounting surface |
| Internal thread | M4 or M5 | Select the mounting screws according to thread size and engagement depth |
Before ordering, compare the hole spacing, overall length, handle height, thread and available mounting depth with the technical drawing. Fixing screws are not included with every handle version and must be selected to suit the installation.
Polished or Sandblasted Stainless Steel Handles?
Polished stainless steel pull handles have a smooth, reflective finish and can be integrated into machinery with polished stainless steel panels. The smooth outer surface also supports regular external cleaning, provided that the mounting points and surrounding transitions remain accessible.
Sandblasted U-handles have a uniform matt appearance and are particularly suitable for industrial machines and enclosures with similarly finished stainless steel surfaces. The choice between polished and sandblasted finishes therefore depends on both the surrounding design and the cleaning requirements of the installation.
3-A Hygienic Pull Handles for Washdown Areas
HYGIENIC 3A pull handles combine a polished stainless steel handle with blue silicone seals at the mounting points. Selected models are specified according to the 3-A Sanitary Standard and are intended for machinery with increased requirements for cleanability and hygienic design.
The silicone seals close the transition between the handle and the mounting surface. A hygienic installation also requires suitable mating surfaces, correctly selected fasteners and accurate assembly. Certification of the handle alone does not confirm that the complete machine door or enclosure is hygienically designed.
Further certified products are available under certified hygienic components .
Recessed Handles for Limited Installation Space
A recessed handle is suitable where a protruding U-handle could obstruct a working area, walkway or the movement of neighbouring machine components. The gripping area is installed largely within the door or panel, creating a compact operating solution with reduced external projection.
In addition to the external dimensions, the required panel cut-out, installation depth and door thickness must be checked. For recessed stainless steel handles with a silicone seal, the mounting surface and intended cleaning procedure must also be considered.
Applications for Industrial Stainless Steel Handles
Stainless steel pull handles are used on machine doors, protective covers, maintenance panels, control cabinets, containers and technical enclosures. They provide a defined gripping point and simplify the operation of movable or removable machine components.
For frequently operated doors, the handle diameter, height and length should provide sufficient clearance for secure use, including operation with work gloves. For heavy doors or high operating forces, the mounting screws, panel thickness and complete supporting structure must be assessed.
A standard pull handle should not be used as a lifting, fall-protection or load-securing point unless the selected product has been specifically designed and approved for that purpose.
Select and Buy Stainless Steel Pull Handles
Use the product filters to select stainless steel handles by finish, diameter, hole spacing, overall length, height, thread and hygienic design. Before ordering, compare all mounting dimensions with the existing drilling pattern or the planned machine construction.
For complete industrial door and enclosure solutions, the handles can be combined with suitable quarter turn latches , stainless steel hinges and other industrial machine components . MOVET can also assist with selecting a suitable handle where installation dimensions or hygiene requirements differ from the standard range.
