What are machine components?
Machine components are defined as parts or assemblies that fulfil the same or similar functions in different machines or systems, regardless of their place of use. As a result, machine elements always occur in the same or similar form, regardless of the manufacturer or place of manufacture. Among the machine elements, fasteners form the main group. This group includes, among others, screws or nuts. Even though the term machine elements initially refers to machines, the components are not limited to use in machines! Rather, machine elements are also used in plants and apparatus. In addition to fasteners, textbooks also include seals, elements of rotary motion such as axles and shafts as well as elements for transmitting uniform rotary motion (gears or friction gears) among the machine elements.

POM round rods at MOVET
With our POM round rods in food grade quality, you are relying on a high-performance plastic that is ideally suited for hygiene applications thanks to its special properties. POM (polyoxymethylene) is a high-molecular thermoplastic with high stiffness, good dimensional stability and particularly low friction values. Our MOVET POM round rods, which you can buy in our shop, are often used for the production of precision parts. POM can be used in an extremely wide temperature range. POM is ideally suited for applications in areas with the strictest hygiene requirements, because the material is characterised by low water absorption - germs have no chance to settle in the material. POM also offers good sliding properties, which makes the plastic a popular, widely used raw material for machine elements.

The 3-A Sanitary Standard defines requirements that are placed on machine elements in hygienically demanding environments. Particularly in the production of food or food ingredients, in milk production or in meat processing, the 3-A Sanitary Service Standard ensures reliable, hygienically safe readiness for use of the various machine elements at all times. In order for the components to meet the high 3-A Sanitary Standard, specified criteria must be fulfilled for the materials used, the manufacturing techniques and also the design. Hygiene down to the smallest screw
Screws are certainly one of the best-known machine elements. As important connecting elements, screws are installed in virtually all systems and machines. In our MOVET shop you will find a wide selection of 3-A certified hygienic screws with water-draining surfaces. The stainless steel screws from MOVET are food safe, i.e. they meet the requirements of food legislation right down the line. The universally applicable screws with intelligent design sustainably reduce cleaning times and reliably prevent liquids or particles from getting trapped under the screw head. With an impermeable, crush-proof fit, MOVET ensures lasting functionality, even at higher temperatures. An extremely low roughness of below Ra 0.8 µm minimises dead spaces on the surface so that dirt particles cannot deposit. With a bevelled cap nut as the head, residues of cleaning agents flow off perfectly.
